Treatments

Anti-wrinkle

Botulinum toxin, often referred to as ant- wrinkle, or muscle relaxant injections, is a prescription-only medication. The treatment is used effectively on the face and neck to treat wrinkles.

Treatment temporarily relaxes muscles, resulting in smoother skin and reducing the appearance of the wrinkles as well as preventing further lines from developing.

It’s often simply referred to as Botox, but Botox isn’t just shorthand for botulinum toxin; it is actually a brand name. I stock several brands of toxin as not one fits all!

Effects are visible within 4-10 days and results can last between 3-4 months when the effects will gradually wear off.

Anti-wrinkle injections are mainly used for the upper part of the face such as the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet but can also be used to treat the mid and lower face.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a cosmetic treatment which involves small injections. They are used to add volume to the face – in areas such as the cheeks, nose, chin, mouth area and the jawline.  This helps combat signs of ageing by filling in wrinkles and adding support as well as contour and defining.

Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid that the body produces naturally, the effects gradually wear away over time as the acid is reabsorbed.

How long will it take to see results?

After the treatment, you can expect to see results immediately, however best results can be seen approx. 2/3 weeks after treatment. This allows for fully healing and the filler to settle.

How long do thermal fillers last?

The amount of time which the results last will vary from person to person, but this is usually between nine and 18 months.

Lip Fillers

Also known as lip augmentation, the treatment effectively adds and restores volume to the lips, producing natural-looking, more plumper results.  The lips can shrink with age and lose their plumpness and definition due to the loss of fat and collagen.

Lip fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, once injected it keeps the lips hydrated and helps to remove any fine lines and wrinkles within the lips whilst giving you a fuller, prettier pout.

Fat Dissolving

Aqualyx®, developed for the non-surgical reduction of localised fat under the skin is a gel-based aqueous solution, which dissolves fat and is biocompatible and biodegradable.

Aqualyx® works by causing the dissolution of fat cells. The body then expels the released fatty acids naturally.

AQUALYX® is an enzyme that is used to break down localised pockets of fat under the surface of the skin. It is not a weight loss solution, but it does help to remove stubborn fatty areas that are not reduced by exercise or dieting.

This treatment is suitable for a variety of areas, including: under the chin, the armpits (bra fat), back, stomach, hips and knees to name just a few.

While this is a permanent solution, patients are advised to continue leading a health lifestyle, to ensure they do not gain weight otherwise the fat can reappear.

The number of treatments required largely depends on what area you would like to be treated.  Depending on the size of the area you will likely need 2 – 8 treatments. Large areas, such as the stomach, will need more AQUALYX® treatments than a smaller area like the chin.

Skin Boosters

Skin boosters are treatments that use the hydrophilic properties of hyaluronic acid to deeply rehydrate the skin.  Unlike hyaluronic acid used for filling injections, it does not add volume but focuses on moisturising and nourishing the skin.

On young skin (under 40 years): the skin still has only a few wrinkles, but it begins to lose tone and elasticity. Skin boosters help prevent sagging skin and slow down the appearance of wrinkles by providing the skin with hydration and tone. They also help to give a new radiance to the complexion and prevent the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

On mature skin (over 40 years): skin boosters prevent skin aging by improving the quality, firmness and texture of the skin. They help to reduce wrinkles by repulping the skin.  Skin boosters can also be injected to improve the appearance of the skin to the neck, hands or chest.

Vitamin Boosters

A deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to a variety of symptoms including tiredness, fatigue and at very severe levels: nervous system disruption and cognitive problems.

Vitamin B12 deficiency can be due to several causes:

After having your Vitamin B12 treatment you should start to see benefits such as increased energy levels, reduced insomnia, reduced symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety & improved memory and concentration.

Vitamin B12 is recommended at 3 monthly intervals.

Medical Treatments

As a qualified and insured nurse, I am always here to listen.  Here to offer free advice, blood pressure checks or simply just a listening ear.

Emergencies

One of the biggest risks when injecting dermal fillers is the risk of a vascular occlusion.  Whilst there are hundreds of practitioners out there doing aesthetics not everyone is trained in emergencies and don't carry the drugs required to deal with them should one occur.

It's vital you do you research on your aesthetics practitioner to ensure you are in safe hands.  As a qualified and practising nurse, I always carry and emergency kit. If you feel you have an occlusion, please feel free to contact me and I will help.

Dont delay as time is precious!

Training

2024 is set to be very exciting, I am officially in the process of writing my own training program to teach other medical professionals as well as refresher and masterclasses in the world of aesthetics!
